BLOGGING: How to increase the reach of your posts!

One of the best pieces of advice ever given to me about blogging was this:

“Content is King!”

Blog regularly, about three hundred words or more, and watch your audience grow.

Admittedly, it isn’t that simple. Keywords and a variety of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) factors come into play.

However, the BIG thing is:

Give your audience valuable information so they learn something and keep returning to your site.

  1. You’ll be seen as an EXPERT. This is important because:

  2. People like to work with EXPERTS.

  3. EXPERTS command more money for their products and services.

Expand the reach of your blog posts by doing the following:

  1. Get a FREE iTunes podcast channel or secure one on another hosting site.

  2. Record your post and share it on your podcast channel.

  3. BIG side benefit: Doing this will make you a better speaker and a better writer!

  4. Do video blogs.

  5. Having your audience see and hear you builds your community. Your audience will feel they know you.

  6. Place that video into your YouTube or Vimeo channel.

  7. Download the audio from the video and place it into your podcast channel.

  8. Place the transcript below your video.

Text – Audio – Video

Now, there are three places Google and audiences will find you!

  1. Use Email Marketing to send your audience a “teaser” of your post so they “click” on it and go to your site to read, listen to, or watch your message.

Your Posts will be Better if:

  1. When possible, follow this formula:

  2. Make a Point – Tell a Story!

  3. Facts and Statistics can be b-o-r-i-n-g.

  4. Your audience will learn from and remember your stories.

  5. When appropriate, make an emotional connection with your story,

  6. Make them personal stores because no one, unless you’ve given permission, can tell your story.

  7. Use simple language in your stories.

  8. If the verbiage isn’t easily understood you’ll lose the reader,

  9. Place high quality, universally interpreted images in your posts.

  10. They must reinforce the story you are telling.

One of the greatest benefits is the knowledge you will gain by writing regularly because:

“The Learning is in the Doing!”

Blog regularly following the above advice and your presentations will be absolutely, positively – NO SWEAT!
