“GOOGLE Me!” Says . . .

Don’t just take my word. Check Me Out!

That two word phrase, especially when delivered with a little “Attitude” (Good Attitude!) grabs your attention, doesn’t it! Great! It’s supposed to!

Saying, GOOGLE ME!” tells everyone, “There’s information about me out there I want you to see. It’s good stuff, and I’m proud of it!”

Understanding we are all self-employed, even if someone else is signing our paycheck, necessitates we promote ourselves.

However, don’t say, GOOGLE ME!” till you’ve GOOGLED yourself. If you’ve built an EXPERT Stool there should be a lot to see! We like to work with EXPERTS, don’t we! They can command more for their products and services. If you want to be perceived as one, work on your EXPERT Stool.

The EXPERT Stool has Three Legs.

First Leg:  Speaking People who speak well, very well, are perceived as EXPERTS!

Commit yourself to becoming an excellent speaker and set a goal to present your expertise in front of as many people as possible. Most have a fear of public speaking and don’t do it. Many who do speak, don’t do it well. If you want to be apart and above the crowd, you must consistently study and apply the art and science of Public Speaking.

The research shows: Speaking Opportunities are Business, Career, and Leadership Opportunities.

People who take and make those speaking opportunities grow their businesses, advance their careers, and increase their leadership possibilities. Take and Make every “Speaking Opportunity!” you can!

Second Leg: Writing On line

  1. Regular blogposts offering great Content.

  2. Guest Posts on other people’s blogs that have links to your site.

  3. Commenting on the Posts of others.

Off Line

  1. Trade Journals.

  2. Newspaper and Magazine articles.

  3. A Book!

  4. It doesn’t have to be a great, big thick one, either.

  5. Being an “Author” gives tremendous credibility.

  6. An author will find more doors of opportunity open and they open quicker and easier.

Third Leg: Internet Marketing The internet is a great avenue to promote yourself to the world!

Your Internet Marketing Plan should include:

  1. A great Website.

  2. Lead with your Blog.

  3. Regularly posting great content lets others see you as an EXPERT on your subject.

  4. Be certain all the other important elements of your site are in place and navigation is easy.

  5. Those elements include.

  6. About You!

  7. What does your visitor want to accomplish?

  8. About Me!

  9. Your credentials and “back story.” Why are you an EXPERT who should be believed and followed?

  10. Contact Information.

  11. You should be easy to reach!

  12. Landing Pages to give visitors something of value and capture their name and email address.

  13. Store.

  14. For purchasing your books. (You have one or are writing one, correct?)

  15. Coaching, speaking, podcasts, and videos of your expertise can all be sold.

  16. Email Marketing

  17. Regular drip campaigns that ‘sort and sift’ prospects from non-prospects and lead to sending the correct information to those who really show an interest in your content, products and services.

  18. Include a “teaser” of your latest post, then check to see who clicks to see the entire article. They are better prospects for your other offerings.

  19. Have links of your offerings that give prospects an opportunity to “show their interest’ for that information.

  20. Example: I have a “Coaching” element where, when clicked, brings the visitor something of value, such as a ‘Speaker’s Template.’ I receive their name and email.

  21. Social media.

  22. There are many sites to promote you, your posts, and other updates.

  23. Include: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, Google+, Tumbler, Pinterest, Instagram, and more.

  24. Video!

  25. If visitors see and hear you, and your message is valuable and presented well, your EXPERTISE is elevated!

  26. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

  27. This is important! You can have great “stuff’ but if no one finds it, it’s value is diminished.

Putting one leg on your EXPERT Stool gives you a “leg up” on your peers.

Putting on a second leg takes your credibility of being an EXPERT one notch higher.

Put on that third leg and you can stand on the stool, head and shoulders above most people.

In most their eyes – YOU ARE AN EXPERT!

Continue to make those three legs stronger and taller. This will grow your EXPERT status. As it grows, you’ll grow your business, career, and leadership opportunities!

Each leg has specific components that require research, knowledge, and hard work. Building your EXPERT Stool is a Process; not an Event!

“The Learning is in the Doing!” I promise you’ll learn many things, some far beyond your area of concentration.

Build your EXPERT Stool right, and build it strong and you’ll be able to say, with an “Attitude” to those wanting to know more about you- GOOGLE Me!
