Presentation Slides: Text vs. Images

Updated: Mar 4

Presentation Slides can add or detract from your message.

Which to use? Text vs. Images

The Goal of All Communication; Visual, Written, or Spoken, is the same.

We want the recipient(s), as quickly as possible to: GET IT!

They may not agree with Everything you say.

They may not agree with Anything you say.

However, if they don’t GET IT! There can’t be a meaningful conversation going forward.

If I say the word, "Apple." You probably don’t see the letters A-P-P-L-E

You probably see something Round, Red, and with a Stem.

Let’s try another example.

Kiwi Fruit (black text on a white background.) Kiwi Fruit (a beautiful, color picture of a Kiwi cut in half.)

Let’s compare like the Eye Doctor does. Better? Kiwi Fruit Text, then, Better? Image.)

Better? Kiwi Fruit Text, then, Better? Image.)

No one ever says, “Go back to that Black Text on a White Background! I can’t wait to go to the store to buy some Kiwi Fruit!”

“See what I mean!”

“I know. I’m explaining why images are better than text, and I’m using text.” “It’s the nature of using slides to demonstrate this” “Bottom Line We think in terms of Images!”
