SPEAKING can be your SUPER POWER!

Speaking

Speaking can be your SUPER POWER!

Are you “Speaking”?

If not, doing so could become your SUPER POWER and do SUPER THINGS for your business, career, and self-esteem.

“Speaking” is not just giving formal presentations. It also includes:

  1. Leading a meeting.

  2. Participating in a discussion.

  3. Asking questions in seminars, community events, and other forums.

  4. Giving a toast.

  5. Delivering a eulogy.

  6. Being a facilitator.

  7. Even speaking one-on-one where you’re making important points for yourself, others, or a cause.

I have studied public speaking and presentation skills for a long time and guarantee:

“Speaking Opportunities are Business, Career, and Leadership Opportunities!” This has been my mantra for years.

Let me relate a few stories and testimonials that back up that statement.

A typical inquiry for my public speaking and presentation skills coaching often starts like this: “I’m sick and tired of people at my company not working as hard nor contributing as much as I do. Some of these folks are getting recognition, bonuses, and even promotions because they are “Speaking.” Most aren’t very good, but they are doing it, and I’m not. Can you help me?”

I recall a discussion with a client who told me, “I have lost promotional opportunities because I did not raise my hand to be a speaker.”

I once spoke to an investment group about developing, practicing, and delivering a great elevator speech.

The president of this gathering was an excellent speaker. After my talk, I thanked him for the “Speaking Opportunity,” complimented him on his presentation skills, and asked what his ‘day job’ was.

“I’m an engineer at Boeing.” was his reply.

We both chuckled because we think of most engineers, and other left-brain people, as being introverts and not as outgoing and talkative as right-brain, non-linear thinkers.

He went on, “I know what you’re thinking about engineers. I am fortunate I can communicate well.

Because of that gift, I am the team leader. Honestly, every one of the people on my team is better at the job than I am, but because I am the communicator, I was promoted to be the leader.”

Another client, after being promoted to VP of the construction company he worked for, called to say he believed the new position was partly due to the quality presentation he gave at an industry conference.

Some clients posted and gave permission to share their “Speaking” experiences.

IN 2019, Chalana Scales-Ferguson was the new director of  the Academic Success Program at the University of Missouri School of Law.

This all stems from my work with you and is a manifestation of your advice regarding “Speaking Opportunities!” Working with you definitely helped me open up the right opportunities. I didn’t expect it to occur so quickly! I am certain we will work together in the future.”

Amy Rivera is a motivational speaker who has faced adversity to the highest degree in several different areas of her life.

Being a speaker was never on my list of “things of things” I wanted to do. I never really thought I’d be good at it. After several months of being coached by Fred Miller, I gave my very first speech in 2018 and received a standing ovation!

2019 has been full of “Speaking Opportunities” and I have officially been selected for #shecan Summit Speaker.

I’m very humbled and #blessed to have this opportunity to share my story (one of them at least.)

There are many stories similar to the above examples. Maybe, your story is worth telling. If so, please send it to me: Fred@NoSweatPubllcSpeaking.com

Speaking is one way to gain credibility.

The perception of someone who presents well is they are an EXPERT. We like to work with EXPERTS. They also command more money for their products and services.

Even if you never speak in front of groups, the ability to do so will make your ‘one-on-one’ conversations better.

Additionally, speaking in front of groups and giving presentations gets most of us out of our comfort zones. When we get out of our comfort zone, we make it larger!

You’ll find yourself tackling other activities you might otherwise have passed over if had it not for the successes of ‘Public Speaking’!

If you’re not already “Speaking,” start now to make Speaking your SUPER POWER!
