You Don’t Need a Stage to Be a Speaker

You Don’t Need a Stage to Be a Speaker

Some of the biggest opportunities you’ll ever receive won’t come with a microphone.

They’ll come with a Question.

  • “What do you think?”

  • “Can you lead this project?”

  • “Would you introduce yourself?”

  • “Can you make a presentation?”

  • “Can you tell us about your business?”

In that moment, you have a choice.

  • You can speak up.

  • Or you can stay quiet.

Most people think speaking opportunities only happen on a stage. They don’t.

Speaking opportunities happen every day.

  • In meetings.

  • In interviews.

  • At networking events.

  • On sales calls.

  • In community organizations.

And when those opportunities appear, some people step forward.

Others step back.

The people who step forward aren’t always the smartest.

  • They aren’t always the most experienced.

  • They aren’t always the most qualified.

  • But they are often the most visible.

    • And visibility creates opportunity.

That’s one reason I believe so strongly in my mantra:

Speaking Opportunities are Business, Career, and Leadership Opportunities.

Think about it.

  • A business opportunity may begin with a conversation.

  • A career opportunity may depend on how well you communicate your value.

  • A leadership opportunity may come when someone asks you to share your ideas.

Unfortunately, many talented people miss opportunities because they never develop the confidence to speak when the opportunity presents itself.

  • They stay quiet.

  • Someone else gets noticed.

  • Someone else gets remembered.

  • Someone else gets the opportunity.

The GOOD NEWS is: You don’t need a stage to be a speaker!

  • You don’t need a spotlight.

  • You don’t need a standing ovation.

  • You simply need the willingness to speak when it matters.

Remember:

  • People can’t appreciate your ideas if they never hear them.

  • People can’t benefit from your experience if you never share it.

  • People can’t follow your leadership if you never speak up.

  • Public speaking isn’t about perfection. - It’s about connection.

The next opportunity that changes your business, your career, or your life may begin with a simple question:

“What do you think?” Make sure you're ready to answer! —————————————————————————————————————————————
